Job description

LITTLE EDEN is a registered non-profit organisation [- NPO] and PBO [No. / 0 / ] providing life-long care to children and adults with profound intellectual disability in two custom designed residential facilities – in Edenvale, and, in Bapsfontein.

They believe that no matter how profoundly disabled a person may be, he or she is still a whole complete being, with a body; a mind; a spirit and a soul.

Our special children may not experience the world in the same way that we do, but they have so much to teach us! From them we learn about the power of the human spirit, the joy to be found in simple achievements, the satisfaction of caring for those who are weaker than ourselves, love that seeks no reward.

The primary function is to obtain and maintain financial support from the public at large and to develop relationships with current, dormant and potential funders in order to increase financial support for Little Eden Society in line with the fundraising strategy and organisational objectives of Little Eden.

Little Eden seeks to appoint a Fundraiser & Events Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The individual is also responsible for all aspects of events planning, ensuring events are undertaken in a professional manner.
  • Identify, promote and evaluate new and existing fundraising projects, campaigns, programs and projects, and ensure these are run effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop relationships with new and prospective donors.
  • Run the community service / volunteer programme.
  • Take responsibility for internal and external events in terms of the planning, logistics, setting up arrangements and execution of these events to ensure that they are well planned, presented and executed.
  • Create, promote and evaluate fundraising campaigns linked to schools as part of their outreach and community service programmes.
  • Implement and coordinate the community service programme with schools promoting Little Eden Society as an outreach priority for the school and scholars.
QUALIFICATION:
  • Matric (Grade) is required but a tertiary qualification would be advantageous.
  • Experience:
  • Two years experience in the fundraising field is required.
  • Police clearance to be obtained and must have a clear credit record.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and own vehicle and be willing to travel and work after hours.
