Role Purpose

You will be responsible for fund accounting, investment accounting, and financial reporting activities to support the growth and development of the Momentum Retirement Administrators (MRA) business.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting major)
• 5 - 7 years' experience in a financial or employee benefit environment
• 5+ years' fund and investment accounting experience

Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledgers
• Reconcile two-tier balance sheet items
• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements
• Prepare monthly cash flow statements within agreed timelines
• Prepare audit files for annual audits and statutory valuations
• Prepare and confirm monthly financial reports
• Ensure statutory information for the fund is always available
• Respond to audit requirements and queries, implementing recommendations
• Perform monthly general ledger reconciliations for the fund
• Reconcile investment trial balances monthly
• Review and analyze daily money movements
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Prepare and submit monthly PAYE returns to SARS
• Process journals within the general ledger system on time, complying with the rules of the Pension Fund, the Pension Fund Act, and FSCA requirements
• Monthly asset and liability matching
• Prepare and submit annual financial statements of the pension fund
• Reconcile investments between asset managers and the accounting system monthly
• Submit quarterly SARB, C48, B16, and Regulation 28 reports
• Prepare and include schedules IA and IB for annual financial statements
