Responsibilities

• Prepare, monitor and capture cash movements and investment trades to ensure NAV accuracy.

• Monitor asset pricing, sources, and calculate expenses and accruals for NAV reports.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and ensure adherence to policies and compliance.

You are passionate about collating, calculating, processing, investigating, and checking fund information. You have a talent for noticing the finer details and have a keen eye for accuracy, making you the perfect Fund Accountant.

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

You will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and capturing cash movements, investment trades, and updating transactions on the accounting system to ensure accurate and timely delivery of the Net Asset Value (NAV). It also involves performing cash and stock reconciliations, investigating outstanding issues, and resolving any discrepancies to avoid NAV errors. Monitoring asset pricing and pricing sources, calculating expenses and accruals, and producing accurate NAV reports are crucial tasks. Proactively resolving queries with stakeholders, implementing company policies and procedures, and adhering to compliance requirements are essential.

What you’ll need

To excel in this role, you'll need a completed degree including Accounting/ Finance/ Investment. Completed SAICA/ SAIPA articles and experience in a similar finance role are essential. You’ll need to have excellent numeracy skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work well under pressure. Your strong problem-solving abilities will be critical to navigating the intricacies of fund accounting.
