Job description

As a permanent full-time online ESL teacher, you’ll benefit from having the support of an experienced team and company resources as well as working from our conveniently located Hyde Park, Johannesburg office.

Teachers receive extensive training on EF’s sophisticated, yet easy-to-use online classroom, and are also able to participate in ongoing professional development programs. Lesson materials are created by our academic team, so you can focus your energy on connecting personally with each student you meet in our group and private lessons. You’ll get great experience working in an international company while helping our adult learners from over 120 countries meet their personal and professional goals of learning English!

Responsibilities

• Conduct 40- to 45-minute conversation-based group and private online lessons with adult learners.
• Provide after-class reports to all students, detailing their progress and ongoing recommendations for improvement.
• Attend ongoing training, which is an essential requirement in EF’s superior teaching products.
• With more experience, create your own custom lesson material.

Working Hours

The Employee will be required to work on rostered days and hours dependent on the 24/7 operational requirements of the company. The company will schedule specific days and times per week, Mondays to Sundays, as per the agreed shift which may change to different times of the day and will be communicated in writing. Normal hours of work will not exceed 45 hours per week and flexibility will be required based on business needs.

Current Shift on Offer:

• Shift schedule: 4 day, 10 hour shift based on shift availability
• Starting gross monthly salary: R8,008.00 (depending on assigned shift)
• Access to Medical Aid after a successful probation.
• Increase your earning with access to a discretionary bonus.
• The Teacher Performance Review (TPR) allows employees to further increase earnings through meeting predetermined KPIs

Requirements

• South African Residency. You must live in South Africa and be in possession of a South African identity document.
• C2 level English speaker with a neutral accent.
• Completed Bachelor’s degree (Compulsory).
• TEFL teaching qualifications (Preferred).
• Highly computer literate.
• Required to work from our office in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.
• Professional, energetic, and excited about people.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus, but not required. Other work experience counts.
• A smartphone is essential for daily sign-ins
