Job summary

TMA Proactive Partners in Cape Town seeks an Intermediate Full-Stack Software Developer to join a small engineering team and own features end-to-end. You will work on AI-enabled product development and occasionally interact with customers to translate problems into technical solutions.

Responsibilities include building with React/TypeScript on the frontend and Node.js/NestJS on the backend, using PostgreSQL and AWS, and mentoring junior developers as the team scales.

Qualifications

• This role requires 3+ years of commercial software development experience.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related discipline is required.
• Experience with React and Node.js (NestJS) is essential.
• Strong SQL and relational database fundamentals are expected.

Responsibilities

• Full-stack product development across React and TypeScript.
• Backend services using Node.js and NestJS.
• Work with PostgreSQL and time-series/high-volume data.
• Deploy and maintain services in AWS.
• Build data, analytics and AI-enabled product features.
• Improve code quality and participate in technical decisions.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Support less experienced developers and grow with the team.
