Job summary

Liquid Thought is seeking a hands-on Full Stack Developer to join its engineering team in Cape Town. You will work across the full stack, writing clean code and delivering high-quality digital products for diverse clients.

The role involves collaborating with designers, PMs and account teams to ensure technical implementation matches creative intent. You will contribute to frontend and backend work, engage in code reviews, and take ownership of features from development through QA.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in full stack web or mobile development.
• Backend experience in PHP with Laravel or a comparable framework.
• Familiarity with CMS platforms such as WordPress or Shopify.
• Working knowledge of relational databases and REST API design and consumption.
• Comfortable with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work on time.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented attitude and ability to work well in a team.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills to flag issues early.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain responsive web and mobile applications across the full stack.
• Write frontend code using React or Vue with HTML/CSS fundamentals.
• Develop backend services, APIs and database integrations using PHP/Laravel.
• Contribute to WordPress and Shopify builds and bespoke applications.
• Participate in code reviews, sprints and technical planning as part of the team.
• Perform self QA and testing before handoff to ensure quality first time.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs and account teams to align implementation with design.
