Job summary

LekkeSlaap is a leading accommodation booking app in South Africa, based at the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. We seek a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our close-knit Product & Engineering team, building scalable web applications across the full stack and driving performance, security, and maintainability.

You will collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering from idea to launch, leveraging AI-enabled tooling to improve workflows and product capabilities for guests and hosts.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer in a web-based, high-traffic, user-facing product environment.
• Proficiency with PHP (Laravel), Twig/HTML/CSS/JavaScript (React), MySQL/MariaDB, Redis and Nginx.
• Experience with AI tools and automation to improve development workflows and product capabilities.
• Strong collaboration with product, design and engineering teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable web applications across the full stack.
• Optimise system performance and implement secure coding practices.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, review processes and test coverage.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers and other developers to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs, bottlenecks and performance issues swiftly.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for long‑term maintainability.
• Contribute to tool/time-saving improvements across workflows and product capabilities.
• Identify opportunities to introduce automation and AI-assisted features across the development lifecycle.
