Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Merchandising Management:
- Conducts regular quality checks on merchandise.
- Executes plano guide 100%.
- Handles products as per SOP.
- Ensures products are produced according to recipe specifications.
- Prepares the department for trade by store opening time.
- Identifies fast-selling lines and assesses implications on margin and sales opportunities.
- Ensures products are wrapped and packed according to standards.
- Maintains sufficient product availability for customer demand.
- Ensures compliance with hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards.
- Monitors promotional activities for adherence to the promotional calendar.
- Keeps backup areas clean and clear.
- Follows sell-by dates, rotates stock as per policy/SOP on sales floor and backup areas.
- Maintains merchandising and cleanliness standards throughout the day, minimizing waste.
- Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Maintains hygiene and housekeeping standards.
- Ensures stock rotation.
- Monitors adherence to food safety and health standards.
- Manages non-conformances with effective corrective actions.
- Implements and checks cleaning schedules and sanitation.
- Records Food Safety Daily Checklist.
- Customer Service Management:
- Responds to customer requests.
- Assists with out-of-stock queries, replacements, and delivery times.
- Maintains department standards; ensures equipment is operational.
- Staff Management:
- Communicates critical information to staff.
- Sets targets, delegates, and prioritizes activities.
- Handles procedural, policy, and legislative non-compliance.
- Attends regional meetings and communicates updates to staff.
- Adjusts Kronos scheduling as needed.
- Coaches staff.
- Administration:
- Maintains equipment and general standards.
- Monitors waste and ensures procedures are followed.
- Monitors turnover, identifies opportunities for growth, and addresses barriers to budgets.
- Ensures all SELs are current and legible.
- Systems:
- Performs gap scanning for out-of-stocks.
- Records out-of-stocks and over-stocks.
- Generates reports from SAP and communicates stock concerns.
- Processes IDTs via SAP and actions reduced to clear as per SOP.
- Checks electronic communications regularly.
- Processes waste and counts P&L as per schedule.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12.
- 2-4 years produce experience and knowledge, OR
- 1-2 years managing a sales department, including coaching, training, and handling non-compliance and performance issues.
