Fruit Accountant

Qualifications

BCompt degree or BTech degree

Experience & Knowledge

• Completed articles at a registered auditing firm or a minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience
• Must have sufficient experience within the fresh fruit industry
• Computer skills and extensive experience in Excel
• Cost accounting and standard cost principles are essential
• Forex handling

Job Description

• Capturing and review of produce and related cost elements and adjustments
• Weekly preparations and review of payments to producers
• Sending of payment remittances to producers
• Reporting on producer payment summaries
• Managing ledgers for any deductions on producer payments
• Invoicing of costs back to producers
• Reconciling and reporting on balance sheet items, relating to control accounts on standard cost
• Onboarding of new producers
• Various reporting
• Any other relevant accounting functions as required
