Our client in the Hospitality industry is currently looking for a Front Office Director, in Cape Town, Western Cape.

POSITION INFO : Responsibilities :

  • Reporting to board of directors and managing director.
  • Operational Management :
  • Oversee daily operations of the front office, including reception, concierge, guest services, and reservations.
  • Ensure high standards of service quality and guest satisfaction.
  • Implement and monitor standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all front office functions.
  • Strategic Planning :
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance front office operations and guest experiences.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align front office strategies with overall hotel goals.
  • Identify industry trends and incorporate them into strategic planning.
  • Prepare and manage the front office department budget, including forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance, implement cost control measures, and optimize revenue generation.
  • Analyse financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the front office team to foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the front office team and with other departments.
  • Guest Experience :
  • Maintain a strong presence in the front office, engaging with guests to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
  • Address guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and effectively.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Technology and Systems Management :
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of front office systems and technology.
  • Ensure efficient use of property management systems (PMS) and other relevant software.
  • Stay updated with technological advancements and recommend upgrades as needed.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within a luxury hotel environment.
  • Proven track record of successful front office management, including operational, strategic, and financial aspects.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of front office operations, standards, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
