Job summary

Investec is seeking a Front‑End Engineer to define and uphold frontend standards across our digital platform. You will own Micro Front End architecture, deliver high‑quality client‑facing applications, and collaborate with Product, UX/UI, and Engineering teams to ship accessible, scalable experiences.

The role focuses on modern front‑end practices, strong TypeScript discipline, and end-to-end delivery from design to production within an agile environment at our Johannesburg site.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve front-end engineering standards across the platform.
• Lead development of React and TypeScript MFEs within a Vite-based shell architecture.
• Maintain and grow the shared component library for reuse and consistency.
• Drive design system integration for accessible, responsive UIs.
• Set standards for TS, state management, SCSS/CSS Modules, WCAG, testing, security, and tooling.
• Collaborate with UX/UI and Product to deliver production-ready implementations.
• Ensure typed data contracts between MFEs and backend APIs.
• Review pull requests for maintainability and quality.
• Champion CI/CD practices across Azure DevOps and Cloudflare deployments.
• Mentor team members and contribute to the front-end guild.
