Job summary

DSV in Kempton Park, South Africa, is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarder for Air Export and Sky Services to manage export documentation and customer communications for timely shipments.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in air freight exports, proficiency with CargoWise1, and the ability to work under pressure, including overtime and weekend duties. Own transport is necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as export controller in air freight exports.
• Proficient in CargoWise1 or similar system.
• Experience with AWB's, SAD500's and related export documentation.
• Excellent liaison with clients via phone and email.

• Detail oriented and able to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and relationship skills.
• Own transport is required.

Responsibilities

• Process / issue export documentation including AWB, SAD, Phytosanitary certificates and COOs.
• Arrange airline bookings per rate agreements.
• Liaise with clients via email and telephone.
• Maintain bookings lists and daily shipment tracking.
• Coordinate warehouse planning and deliveries with IT teams.

Main Purpose of The Role:

Processing of export documentation

• At least 5 years experience as export controller in air freight exports
• CargoWise1 or similar systems
• Processing of AWB's, SAD500's, and all related export documentation
• Understanding of industry and related job requirements for freight forwarding.
• Geographical knowledge and familiar with airline routines and capabilities
• Strong organizational & persuasive skills
• Ability to liaise effectively with clients, both telephonically and via e-mail.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends
• Detail orientated and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to lead.
• Own transport required

Duties and responsibilities (daily, weekly, monthly) will include, but not be limited to:

• Processing / issuing of all export documentation : AWB, SAD, Phytosanitary certificate, PPECB, COO's, etc.
• Airline bookings as per rate agreements
• Liaising with clients via e-mail, and telephonically
• Maintaining of bookings lists
• Daily tracking of shipments
• Updating clients on status of shipments
• Daily shipment / warehouse planning
• Liaising with warehouse i.t.o. deliveries / collections
