The Financial Planning and Analytics Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the financial decision-making process of the Group. This role is responsible for analysing financial data, preparing reports, and providing valuable insights to guide strategic and operational initiatives, working closely with the executive team, the Office of the CFO, and various other stakeholders. This role will contribute to optimizing financial performance, identifying risks, and identifying opportunities for growth, allowing us to stay ahead of the game.

What you’ll be doing

As part of your role, your responsibilities will include:

Financial Analysis & Insights

  1. Conduct in-depth financial analysis on revenue, costs, and other key financial drivers, identifying risks and opportunities to optimize financial performance.
  2. Work closely with Financial Directors and the Heads of Finance to analyse monthly results and performance against budget vs actual results, highlighting variances and providing explanations to support the CFO and Head of Finance with internal and external reporting.
  3. Assist with the design, preparation, and automation of detailed financial reports and analysis to provide senior management with accurate and timely information for decision-making purposes.
  4. Collaborate with various business units to compile analysis and write commentary for SEC and other regulatory reporting including MD&A in SEC filings and Board reports.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop financial models, evaluate investment opportunities, and assess the financial impact of business initiatives.
  6. Contribute to the development and improvements of financial systems including streamlining financial allocations.
  7. Ensure that all reporting dimensions are used correctly throughout the various business units.
  8. Work closely with various teams within the organisation to improve financial reporting and implement automation where feasible.

Strategic Planning and Forecasting

  1. Assist in the preparation of financial presentations for the executive team and Board reporting, focusing on value-adding commentary.
  2. Conduct financial research and analysis on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to support strategic planning.
  3. Utilize various planning methods like predictive planning, driver-based planning, and multi-scenario planning to create financial forecasts.
  4. Collaborate with various business units to gather data input and ensure accurate and realistic forecasting.

Process Improvement and Compliance

  1. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  2. Oversee the compliance with financial regulations and contribute to best practices in reporting standards.
  3. Work closely with Senior Management and the Financial Directors to assist in ad hoc projects aimed at improving processes, SOX reporting, and month-end procedures.

Essential skills you’ll bring to the table

The necessary skills that we require for this role include:

  1. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  2. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams with a focus on achieving shared goals.
  3. Expertise in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a track record of delivering on time and within scope.
  4. Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and priorities, maintaining effectiveness in dynamic situations.
  5. Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in finance or related field.
  6. Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a financial analyst.
  7. Proficiency working with financial software and tools.
  8. Strong financial commentary writing skills for board reporting and investors' presentations.
  9. Experience with designing reports in PowerBI or similar reporting platforms.
  10. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  11. Proficient in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis.
  12. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

It would be great if you also have some of the following skills:

  1. Previous experience in the online gaming or casino industry.
  2. Experience in compiling projections and due diligence for M&As.
  3. Knowledge of statistical analysis processes and packages.
  4. Experience in a corporate finance setting.
