CLIENT in the HEAVY ENGINEERING MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY requires the services of a FOUNDRY MANAGER at their plant in the CAPE TOWN area as soon as possible

POSITION INFO :

We are looking for a person with a professional work ethic who is able to manage the commercial, IR, safety and technical aspects associated with the day to day running of a medium sized Foundry. We seek a suitably qualified, but more importantly, motivated and experienced person, with a strong technical background who is able to work well with people.

QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Diploma in or equivalent.

Qualifications in Foundry Technology will be a distinct advantage.

EXPERIENCE

At least 8 years in the process of manufacturing metal castings & or metal products, 5 years of which should be in a managerial role.

A good understanding of Quality systems, the OHSACT and Air Quality legislation will be required.

Proven experience with the LRA

Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Proven experience with budgeting and financial control.

Above average competency with MS Office.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

Ensure safety of staff

Production output and quality

Managing day to day IR issues

Liaising with clients (internal & external)

Proactively manage machine maintenance and efficiency

Constant drive to innovate technologies used within the Foundry.

Auditing and quality control of sub-contracted foundry work

Successful candidate must be willing to work overtime from time to time.
