About the Role

You will create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to explore their potential. Working within a collaborative team, you will implement age-appropriate curriculum and pedagogical approaches to ensure the holistic development of each child. This position offers a blend of on-site classroom teaching and potential for remote administrative or planning tasks, providing a flexible working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons to learners in the Foundational Phase (Grades R-3) according to the national curriculum.


• Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that promotes curiosity and active participation.


• Assess learner progress through various methods, including observation, classwork, and formal assessments, providing constructive feedback.


• Develop and maintain positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues.


• Integrate play-based learning and age-appropriate teaching strategies to support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.


• Collaborate with fellow teachers and school management to enhance the educational program and school ethos.

Requirements

• Relevant teaching qualification for the Foundational Phase (e.g., B.Ed. or PGCE).


• Registered with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).


• Proven experience teaching within the Foundational Phase (Grades R-3).


• Strong understanding of the CAPS curriculum and early childhood development principles.
