Duties

Foundation phase educators will create learning experiences to stimulate and develop individual talents and equip children with essential skills in reading, literacy, and numeracy, among others. They will need to:

• Deliver future-focused education that motivates, inspires, and challenges students;
• Demonstrate strength of character, integrity, and professionalism at all times;
• Develop and maintain constructive partnerships with colleagues, parents, guardians, and community members;
• Communicate and collaborate positively, respectfully, and openly within the learning community.

They will be accountable for the following performance areas:

Qualifications & Experience

• An undergraduate degree (NQF level 6) in ECD or B. Education (Foundation Phase)
• A PGCE is necessary if the degree is deemed suitable, e.g., Psychology
• SACE certification and police clearance are required
• 2-5 years of teaching experience
• Computer and digital literacy
• First Aid certification
• Remedial experience or training
