FOUNDATION PHASE TEACHER

Applicants are invited for a highly motivated Foundation Phase teacher to complement the staff at Phyllis Jowell School. The applicant need not be Jewish.

  • An inspirational, organised and energetic teacher
  • Previous teaching experience essential
  • Well-developed inter-personal and organisational skills
  • Computer literacy – Google Platform and ability to integrate IT in the classroom
  • Open to implementing progressive educational philosophy and International Curriculum
  • Willingness to liaise as a team player
  • Excellent English verbal and written skills; and fluency in Afrikaans
  • Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to differentiate learning in the classroom to effectively personalise education for every child
  • SACE registration
  • Clearances: Police, Sexual Offences and Child Protection

The position includes:

  • Teaching all learning areas in the Foundation Phase
  • Working from 7h45 to 16h00, Monday to Friday
  • Attending a staff meeting once a week from 15h00 to 16h30
  • Running an extra mural one afternoon a week from 15h00 to 16h00
  • Attended Parent/Teacher Meetings as required
