Job summary

Nova Pioneer is seeking a standout IsiZulu and Afrikaans Teacher to join the Midrand Campus for January 2027. The role focuses on Foundation Phase learners, adopting an enquiry-based approach and strong collaboration with Deans of Instruction.

Residents lead instruction, plan rigorously, and mentor apprentices. The successful candidate will be proficient in isiZulu and Afrikaans and dedicated to student success within Nova Pioneer’s innovative network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Bachelor’s Degree + PGCE.
• SACE registered.
• Proficient in isiZulu and Afrikaans (oral and written).
• Experience with Cambridge curriculum is an advantage.
• Ability to lead a classroom independently.
• Passion for teaching and student success.
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate pedagogy.
• Enquiry-based, student-centered learning focus.
• Team player with collaborative skills.
• Tech-enabled instruction competency.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with learning designers to design impactful lessons.
• Deliver engaging enquiry-based lessons using technology.
• Observe and coach apprentice teachers.
• Foster joy and curiosity for learning in students.
• Set rigorous goals and provide actionable feedback.
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and designers.
• Participate in professional development and learning activities.
• Communicate with parents via email/phone/meetings.
• Contribute to co-curricular programs and events.
