Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Formulation Scientist to join a drug development team in Upington. You will design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical dosage forms, ensuring stability and manufacturability while translating pre-clinical findings into viable products for trials and commercialization.

The role requires a PhD or MSc in a related field with at least 4 years of hands-on formulation experience, expertise in HPLC, DSC, and XRD, and a strong GMP understanding.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute formulation development studies for various dosage forms (e.g., oral solids, liquids, injectables).

• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solubility, stability, and compatibility testing.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for characterization and quality control of formulated products.
• Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for internal use and regulatory submissions.
• Collaborate with process development and manufacturing teams to ensure successful scale-up and technology transfer of formulated products.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
