Ensure efficient and accurate loading and offloading of trucks in the warehouse.

POSITION INFO :

Accountable for operation of own work area or as a member of a team, as well as for quality, standards and outputs within defined work routines and policies.

Job Purpose

The purpose is to ensure effective customer service is achieved through the efficient and accurate loading and offloading of trucks in the warehouse.

Key Accountabilities and Outputs

Health, Safety and Environment

1. Maximum Safe Pallet stacking heights complied with
2. Ensure adherence to site safety standards as head of Safety, Health and Environmental Committee
3. Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation
4. Ensure adherence to site safety standards and critical member of Safety, Health and Environmental Committee in line with the OSH Act and ensure the safe operation of forklifts.
5. Ensure compliance to all relevant legislation and support a safe environment for The Beverage Company’s Employees, Contractors and Visitors.

Effective Stock Quality Management

1. Warehouse stock age standards maintained by ensuring stock rotation principles applied
2. Ensures quality control through checking packaging on warehouse floor and prior to loading

Effective Inventory Management

1. Participation in handover process before and after every shift
2. Accurate stock counts performed when requested
3. Maintain clear and effective communication with Stock Clerk, Warehouse Controller and Warehouse Supervisor

Routine Responsibilities

1. Ensure efficient and accurate loading and offloading of trucks in the warehouse.
2. Ensure that loading and offloading is done within the standard turnaround times
3. Accurately interpreting documentation for the picking/loading of orders.
4. Basic caretaking of forklifts and ensure equipment is operated safely within Manufacturers specifications and compliant with the OHS Act.
5. Locating, stacking and packing of stock in their allocated areas.
6. Maintain Site housekeeping by using the 5S philosophy.
7. Assist with picking of orders when needed.
8. Perform physical stock counts and investigate variances.
9. Engage with controllers and supervisors to execute loading in line with the loading plans.
10. All documentation accurately and comprehensively completed.
11. Conversant with relevant business information, policies, processes and procedures.
