Purpose Statement

Under the guidance of the Manager: Forensic Investigations or Manager: Insurance Fraud, investigate instances of risk related to various types of fraud across Capitec, including external fraud (credit application fraud, policyholder or claims fraud) and internal fraud, serious breaches of policies, and criminal syndicates. Investigate, gather evidence for disciplinary or criminal proceedings, identify control weaknesses, and recommend preventative measures, improvements, and training initiatives.

Experience

Minimum:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Forensic Investigator/Auditor
  • Background in funeral investigations or related qualifications (e.g., CFE, criminology, forensic law, auditing)
  • Experience with research and field investigations
  • Strong reporting and communication skills
  • Proficiency in languages such as English, Afrikaans, Sepedi, IsiZulu, Xhosa
  • Willingness to travel for fieldwork
  • Valid driver’s license

Ideal:

  • Proven experience in the financial services sector as a Forensic Investigator/Auditor
Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Investigation methods and procedures
  • Criminal law and law of evidence
