Job description

FEM is looking to appoint a Forensic Analyst at its Head Office within the Operational Finance department, Reporting to the Senior Manager: Operational Finance. The purpose of the role is to investigate and analyse financial records and transactions to uncover irregularities, identifying fraud risks, conducting forensic audits, and performing field investigations when required. The Forensic Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements while verifying the accuracy of information.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Auditing, or Forensic Accounting.
  2. 3–5 years of experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or financial crime analysis, preferably within the insurance industry.
  3. Experience in forensic auditing, fraud detection, and compliance investigations.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. A keen eye for detail and ethical conduct.
  6. Ability to compile comprehensive reports on fraud investigations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Professional certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF), or a relevant forensic auditing qualification.
  2. Strong understanding of fraud schemes related to claims and premium fraud.
  3. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the Insurance Act and Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA).
  4. Experience with forensic tools and data analytics software.
