The position will be based in Wadeville, and the incumbent will report to the Business UnitManager.

Job Specification
  • Responsible for ensuring the continuous availability of all consumable materials and equipment in order to facilitate the smooth flow of work and to avoid production delays;
  • Implement, enforce, and maintain the Company’s EHS policies and procedures;
  • Implement, enforce, and maintain the Company’s Quality policies and procedures;
  • Provides inputs into the annual budgeting process in line with the objectives of the department and managing the budget;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff are given opportunities for training and development in accordance with work requirements including on job coaching;
  • Responsible to control overtime, time and attendance and time keeping;
  • Responsible for ensuring that all staff undergo statutory, legal, safety compliance training;
  • Responsible for ensuring that a sound ER climate prevails in work areas by applying knowledge to ensure that appropriate procedures and mechanisms are in place to resolve ER issues such as grievances and disciplinary cases;
  • To ensure safety of all employees under Foreman’s supervision;
  • To make sure that all components are manufactured according to Komatsu engineering drawing;
  • To make sure that delivery dates that have been communicated to internal/external customers are met.
Minimum Skill Required
  • Must have Matric/Grade 12;
  • Trade Test Qualification Red Seal: preferably Electrical or Millwright;
  • Must have an N5/N6 Engineering qualification;
  • Degree/Diploma in Operations Management/Engineering will be an added advantage;
  • At least 3 – 5 years’ experience preferably in a manufacturing/mining engineering environment;
  • Must be able to read electrical schematic and wiring drawings to determine operations, required material, and time frames for projects
  • Communication skills are essential to work with team members;
  • Valid Flameproof Certificate advantageous;
  • Must have own reliable transport;
  • Ability to create an environment that inspires team members to generate novel solutions with measurable value for the business;
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and projects simultaneously with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business; and;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as ability to work independently and self-directed.
