Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: The Food Service Director is a management position responsible for developing and executing dining solutions to meet customer needs and tastes.

Oversees and manages dining operations where customers order prepared foods from a menu.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000.

If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Lead, mentor, engage, and develop teams to maximize contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance.
  2. Ensure food services connect appropriately to the Executional Framework.
  3. Coach employees by creating a shared understanding of objectives and execution methods.
  4. Reward and recognize employees.
  5. Ensure safety and sanitation standards in all operations.
Client Relationship
  • Identify client needs and communicate operational progress effectively.
Financial Performance
  • Adopt Aramark processes and systems.
  • Build revenue and manage budgets, including cost controls for food, beverage, and labor.
  • Ensure completion and maintenance of P&L statements.
  • Achieve food and labor targets.
  • Manage resources to ensure quality and cost control within budgetary guidelines.
Productivity
  • Implement and maintain Aramark initiatives for labor and food.
  • Create value through efficient operations, cost controls, and profit management.
  • Ensure full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals, including food and labor standards.
  • Oversee operations related to production, distribution, and food service.
Compliance
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment for clients, customers, and employees.
  • Comply with all policies, rules, and regulations, including safety, health, wage, and hour laws.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain systems for food-related operations, including menu planning and development.
  • Develop operational forecasts and explain variances.

Responsible for components accounting functions.

  • Ensure sanitation and safety requirements are met.
  • Coordinate and supervise personnel regarding production, merchandising, quality, cost control, labor management, and training.
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain frontline staff.
  • Conduct inventory periodically.
  • Maintain records to comply with standards.
  • Interact with client management and maintain effective relations.
  • Participate in sales and contract negotiations.
  • Seek opportunities for new products and services to support growth and retention.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Manage the front of house operations (Cafeteria / Residential Dining).
  • Develop and implement food service plans aligned with client mission and vision, including sustainable practices.

Qualifications
  • At least 4 years of experience.
  • 1-3 years in a management role.
  • Previous experience in food service.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Effective client and customer rapport development.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective interdepartmental relationships.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
