Food Scientist

Salary: Industry Related, depending on experience

Opportunity at our client for a Food Scientist to join their firm in Magaliesburg, Gauteng area on a permanent basis.

Minimum requirements:

• BSC Agriculture Animal Science and/or Food Science
• 1-5 years working experience within the same or similar role (Product development, meat industry)

POSITION INFO:

Duties will include but are not limited to:

Product Development:

• Create new products for the worldwide market to allow the company to expand its export footprint.
• Continuous new product formulation, development, and processing.
• New product development ideas.
• Identify new manufacturing procedures.
• Determine cost-effective methods of producing.

Quality Control:

• Assist with the quality control of products.
• Assist to enhance product quality and shelf life.
• Monitor food safety protocols and design quality assurance policies.

Procurement:

• Assist with the best procurement of raw materials.
• Predict food quantities and report estimates.

Other company enhancements as may be required.
