A leading food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Food Safety & Quality Manager with strong expertise in food safety management systems, quality assurance, and compliance to join their team in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet internal and external food safety and quality standards, while maintaining compliance with regulatory and certification requirements.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the Food Safety and Quality Management System in accordance with FSSC 22000, ISO, HACCP, and GMP standards
Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety legislation and customer requirements
Lead internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of any non-conformances
Conduct regular quality and hygiene inspections
Implement continuous improvement initiatives across production and quality processes
Liaise with production, procurement, R&D, and commercial teams to ensure quality objectives are met
Train staff on food safety protocols and quality systems
Monitor and analyse quality data, implementing corrective actions where needed
Manage customer complaints and ensure prompt investigation and resolution
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field
Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulatory requirements (FSSC 22000, HACCP, ISO, GMP)
Proven experience with internal and third-party audits
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
