Job summary

A reputable food manufacturing company is looking for a dedicated Food Safety Co-Ordinator to ensure compliance with food safety standards. The successful candidate will implement and maintain food safety management systems, conduct audits, and train staff. A qualification in Food Safety and at least 3 years' experience in food manufacturing are required. Strong attention to detail and communication skills are essential. This role is located in Durban, South Africa.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12) + a qualification in Food Safety, Food Technology, or Quality Management is required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment is necessary.
  • Sound knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO standards, and food safety legislation is essential.

Job description

A reputable food manufacturing company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Food Safety Co-Ordinator to ensure compliance with all food safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of food safety systems.

Key Responsibilities :

Implement and maintain Food Safety Management Systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, etc.)

Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments

Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and certification requirements

Train and support staff on food safety practices and hygiene

Manage non-conformances and implement corrective / preventive actions

Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and inspections

Liaise with production, QA, and external auditors

Requirements :

Matric (Grade 12) + Qualification in Food Safety, Food Technology, or Quality Management

Minimum 23 years' experience in a food manufacturing environment

Sound knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO standards, and food safety legislation

Strong attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Computer literate (MS Office, Excel, etc.)
