Job description

A leading water treatment solutions provider based in the West Rand is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven District Manager to oversee operations in Brits, Northwest. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and proven experience in sales, team management, and operations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Occasional underground work may be required.
  • Own vehicle with a valid license.
  • Clean bill of health to pass client site medicals.
  • Proven experience in sales, team management, and operations.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop and manage a high-performing team.
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of SHEQ requirements and safety legislation.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
  • Willingness to travel for business.

Duties:

  • Drive district contributions to company targets.
  • Manage and expand current customer relationships.
  • Identify and convert new customers and market opportunities aligned with company goals.
  • Address customer concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Recruit, coach, and monitor the performance of staff and contract employees.
  • Develop your team to ensure succession planning and operational depth.
  • Serve as the 16.2 appointee for the district, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety legislation.
  • Appoint and train competent personnel for safe task execution.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of safety and excellence in your district.
  • Present sales, revenue, and expense reports, as well as realistic forecasts, to senior management.
  • Oversee all district operations, ensuring alignment with client scopes and expectations.
  • Organize safety meetings, incident management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as required by the business, even if not specifically listed in the job description.
