We have an exciting opportunity for a Food & Beverage Manager based in Greyville.
The successful candidate will oversee daily Food & Beverage operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards. Responsibilities include managing food quality, stock control, budgeting, and cash handling to maximize profitability. The role involves supervising and training staff, enforcing performance standards, and delivering excellent customer service. Additionally, the manager will collaborate on menu development and promotions, maintain cleanliness, and prepare operational reports. Support management with various tasks as needed.
Minimum requirements:
- At least 3 years of Food & Beverage management experience.
- Valid South African driver’s license.
Advantageous qualifications:
- Food & Beverage management or Culinary Art qualification.
- Experience managing a catering kitchen.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations related to food handling, preparation, serving, and building maintenance for bar and kitchen areas.
- Follow internal F&B processes diligently.
- Maintain the POS system, ensuring it is operational and accurately recording transactions.
- Keep the F&B facility, including kitchens, storage, service, dining, and bar areas, clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure cutlery and crockery are clean and in good condition.
- Follow cash-up processes to accurately account for sales.
- Monitor food preparation, portion sizes, and presentation to meet quality standards.
- Coordinate kitchen and service resources for efficient food use and timely service.
- Manage F&B costs and budgets to maximize profitability, including cash and stock control.
- Oversee stock control, including receiving deliveries, maintaining stock, and managing wastages and breakages.
- Keep stock organized, stored properly, and record accurately using relevant software (GAAP).
- Conduct stock reconciliation and manage variances and shortages.
- Schedule staff considering busy periods and events to ensure adequate coverage.
- Manage all F&B staff, including supervisors, waitstaff, bartenders, cashiers, and kitchen staff.
- Ensure staff conduct meets standards and address disciplinary issues when necessary.
- Set performance standards and conduct reviews.
- Promote excellent customer service, address complaints promptly, and build relationships with regular customers.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly F&B reports timely.
- Collaborate with the Betting Branch Manager to enhance customer experience and retention.
- Train and develop team members.
- Contribute to menu development and costing.
- Plan promotions and implement strategies to increase revenue and foot traffic.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
