Job summary

MPRTC is seeking an experienced candidate in KwaZulu-Natal with a strong background in FMCG and convenience retail. The role requires P&L management, delivering sales and gross profit targets, and leading store teams including merchandisers.

Knowledge of deli or fresh food operations is a plus, along with robust stock control and compliance skills. The successful applicant will work Monday to Saturday from midday with flexibility as required, ensuring high standards in food safety, stock

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 with related diploma/degree advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years FMCG or convenience retail experience, including at least 3 years in a store/management role.
• 35 years FMCG procurement or buying experience, including supplier negotiations.
• Proven experience managing a store P&L and achieving sales and gross profit targets.
• Experience in deli, fresh food or food-to-go operations advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of stock control, replenishment, stocktakes, shrinkage and wastage management.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and Halal compliance.
• Experience managing and developing teams, including merchandisers.
• Proficiency in POS, stock management systems and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong commercial, financial, leadership and negotiation skills.
• Results-driven, hands-on and able to work under pressure.
• Willing to work Monday to Saturday from midday, with flexibility as required.
