RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set sales targets based on store potential, location, and deals involved.
- Serve customers by selling products and exceeding customer needs.
- Build strong customer relationships with added value.
- Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules to visit existing or potential sales outlets and trade factors.
- Coordinate sales promotions.
- Identify slow-moving products and promote sales of new products.
- Evaluate customers before accepting them.
- Identify prospective customers and convert them to OGD customers.
- Adjust sales presentations based on the type of sales outlet or trade factor.
- Focus sales efforts by analyzing existing and potential dealer volumes.
- Submit orders referencing price lists and product literature.
- Apply OGD sales KPIs effectively.
- Analyze sales data and develop sales action plans.
- Manage project events.
- Understand and apply Break-Even Point Analysis.
- Keep management informed through activity and results reports such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and territory analyses.
- Monitor competitors by gathering market information on pricing, products, and merchandising techniques.
- Recommend changes in products, services, and policies based on evaluations and competitive developments.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating issues, developing solutions, and reporting to management.
- Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies.
- Maintain records on area and customer sales.
- Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results.
- Maintain the company vehicle and keep daily logs.
- Complete weekly call cycles.
REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 education.
- Preferred tertiary qualification in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration.
- 3 to 5 years of sales experience, preferably in FMCG.
- C1 driver’s license with PDP.
- Experience dealing with chain retail stores.
- Ability to speak at least one traditional language.
- Willing to travel daily; residents of Newcastle or Ladysmith preferred.
