Job summary

A leading automation manufacturing company in Johannesburg seeks an experienced Industrial Manufacturing PLC Programmer. Responsibilities include electrical and PLC programming, installation and configuration of industrial automation systems, and working independently. Candidates should have a Matric Certificate, an Electrical Qualification or Trade Tested Electrician, and experience with various PLC platforms. Salary range is approximately R 30,000 – R 44,000 gross monthly, plus overtime pay.

Overview

Industrial Manufacturing PLC Programmer (Delta or Siemens or other) Must have worked in an Automation Manufacturing material Factory company as an Electrical PLC programmer. Permanent position | JHB near Germiston. Must be willing to relocate very close to the company. Must have a Matric Certificate essential. Must have an Electrical Qualification OR Trade Tested Electrician Red Seal essential. Must have completed training in Coding PLC’s and using Software for PLC Programming. Must have own reliable car. Must have 2 -4+ years’ experience working in an Automation Manufacturing Materials Company doing Electrical + PLC coding Programming+ fault finding (on either Delta / Siemens / Omron / OR other PLC’s). Must have experience in manufacturing of products (Eg : tailer boards, glass, aluminum, materials, windows, wood and, Boardrooms, plastics, or cleaning items, stationary, office furniture, valves or other etc.). Must have experience installing configuring +using Festo drives +wiring PLC’s, Sensors, Conductors, relays, wiring cabinets+ panel building, and Actuators+ valves (of different sizes). Must have done coding on the PLC using software extremely essential. Must have very strong Electrical working experience + using Festo drives - very important. Must have Factory automation and maintenance working experience needed. Must have Fault finding electrical and technical experience. Experience working on valves (of different sizes). Must have work independently without direct supervision. Pneumatics HMI experience. Must be willing to work overtime when needed on weekends and during the week and evening - there is overtime pay given. Be able to start as soon as possible – preferably immediately.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and PLC programming work across Delta, Siemens, Omron or other PLC platforms as part of an automation manufacturing environment.
• Install, configure, and wire PLCs, sensors, relays, panels, and wiring cabinets; work with actuators and valves of different sizes.
• Develop PLC coding using software, perform fault finding and maintenance in factory automation systems.
• Work with Festo drives and related pneumatic/hydraulic components; use HMI where required.
• Collaborate in a manufacturing setting and be able to work independently without direct supervision.
• Be available for overtime on weekends/weekday evenings with overtime pay.

Qualifications

• Matric Certificate (essential).
• Electrical Qualification OR Trade Tested Electrician; Red Seal essential.
• Must have completed training in coding PLCs and using software for PLC programming.
• Own reliable car; able to relocate close to the company.
• 2-4+ years’ experience in an automation manufacturing materials company, with electrical + PLC coding, programming, and fault finding on PLCs (Delta/Siemens/Omron or other).
• Experience in product manufacturing (e.g., tailer boards, glass, aluminum, materials, windows, wood, plastics, cleaning items, stationery, office furniture, valves, etc.).
• Experience installing, configuring, and using Festo drives; wiring PLCs, sensors, relays, and panels; experience with pneumatics and HMI is a plus.

Benefits & Salary

• Salary: approximately R 30 000 – R 44 000 gross per month (44 hours per week, paid weekly) plus overtime pay when required.
• Salary package is dependent on skills, qualifications, and years of relevant experience; discretionary annual performance bonus.
• Pension scheme noted: the company pays only half of the pension fund and will deduct part of the pension from your salary.
