Placements24 is seeking a Distribution Manager to oversee the Soweto distribution network for FMCG products. You will manage warehousing, inventory, and transportation, while leading a team to meet performance targets and delivering cost-effective service to retailers.

The role requires strong leadership, WMS/TMS expertise, and the ability to negotiate with 3PLs, ensure safety compliance, and drive operational excellence in a dense urban setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven senior logistics/Distribution Manager experience, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong knowledge of WMS and TMS systems.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing large-scale distribution in urban environments like Soweto.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and optimize the distribution network including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation for FMCG products.
• Lead, train, and motivate warehouse and logistics staff to meet targets.
• Develop routing and scheduling strategies for timely, cost-effective delivery to retail outlets.
• Manage relationships with 3PL providers; monitor SLAs and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all aspects of the distribution network, including warehousing, inventory control, and transportation for FMCG products.
