Placements24 is partnering with a regional airline to hire a Flight Dispatcher for on-site work in Centurion, Gauteng. You will plan and monitor flights, coordinate with pilots and ATC, and ensure safety and punctuality of schedules in a busy operations center.

The ideal candidate has a valid Flight Dispatcher license, at least 3 years of airline experience, strong meteorology and navigation knowledge, and the ability to work shifts including nights and holidays.

Qualifications

• Valid Flight Dispatcher license or equivalent certification.
• Minimum 3 years of airline flight-dispatch experience.
• Strong meteorology, air navigation and aircraft performance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan and file flight plans per policy and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor weather and forecasts; adjust flight plans as needed.
• Calculate fuel requirements and loads for all flights.
• Provide pre-flight briefings with weather, NOTAMs and route info.
• Track flights, communicate deviations to pilots and ops teams.
• Manage disruptions, diversions and cancellations.
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
• Maintain flight logs and operational records.
• Liaise with maintenance, crew scheduling and ground ops.
• Serve as primary point of contact for flight crews during ops.

About the Role Our client, a dynamic regional airline, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Flight Dispatcher to join their operations team in Centurion, Gauteng . This is a critical on-site role responsible for the safe, efficient, and punctual operation of the airline's flight schedule. You will work closely with pilots, air traffic control, and various operational departments to plan and monitor flights from departure to arrival. The ideal candidate possesses strong decision-making capabilities, excellent communication skills, and a thorough understanding of meteorology, air navigation, and aviation regulations. This role demands a high level of responsibility and the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment. As a key member of the operations control center, your expertise will directly contribute to the success and safety of every flight. This position requires your physical presence at our operations hub in Centurion to ensure immediate response and coordination. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and file flight plans in accordance with company policies, air traffic control procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor weather conditions and forecasts along flight routes and at destination airports, making necessary adjustments to flight plans.
• Calculate fuel requirements and ensure adequate fuel loads for all flights, considering all operational factors.
• Provide pre-flight briefings to flight crews, including weather, NOTAMs, route information, and operational updates.
• Track flights in progress, monitor aircraft position, and communicate any deviations or issues to relevant parties.
• Manage operational disruptions, such as diversions or cancellations, and coordinate recovery efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all local and international aviation regulations.
• Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
• Liaise with maintenance, crew scheduling, and ground operations to ensure smooth flight operations.
• Act as the primary point of contact for flight crews during flight operations.

Requirements

• Valid Flight Dispatcher License or equivalent certification from a recognized aviation authority.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Flight Dispatcher in an airline operations environment.
• Comprehensive knowledge of aviation meteorology, air navigation, and aircraft performance.
• Strong understanding of ICAO regulations and local aviation laws.
• Proficiency in using flight planning software and operational databases.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Must be physically located in or willing to relocate to Centurion, Gauteng .
• A clean criminal record and the ability to obtain necessary security clearances.
