Job summary

Afrique Connection Consultancy is seeking a dedicated Locum General Practitioner for a 6-month contract in Cape Town. The role offers flexibility with 2–3 shifts weekly at City Centre and Sea Point locations, with notice for longer leave cover and a supportive, patient-centred environment.

The practice accepts cash and medical aid patients, follows HPCSA guidelines, and provides admin support to ensure smooth patient care. If you value variety and independence, this role fits well.

Qualifications

• MBChB (or equivalent) with current HPCSA registration.
• Strong clinical skills and patient-centred care approach.
• Excellent communication and reliable professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical consultations, diagnoses and treatments.
• Keep accurate, detailed patient records during consultations.
• Prescribe medication and manage repeat prescriptions.
• Complete motivations and medical aid forms, and respond to prescription queries.
• Communicate results of special investigations to patients.
• Contribute to medical writing and patient information leaflets.
• Follow practice protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
