Fleet Manager – PnP KZN:

We specialise in transporting temperature-sensitive and diverse products across short and long-haul routes. Role & Function:

We seek a Fleet Manager to join our Durban, KZN team. The role involves managing daily (including nightshift) depot operations, including planning, scheduling, vehicle maintenance, driver management, and customer service to meet SLA standards. The ideal candidate should be diligent, organized, customer-focused, reliable, and flexible.

Key Performance Areas:

Operations:

  • Manage vehicle fleet including maintenance scheduling, weekly checks, servicing, diesel management, breakdown handling, vehicle cleanliness, and licensing.
  • Coordinate with drivers to improve operational efficiency.
  • Plan trips, load schedules onto applications, manage driver hours, route planning, and supervise goods loading at client sites.
  • Monitor driver performance, fuel consumption, debriefs, and weekly reports.
  • Manage driver licenses and Permits (PrDP).
  • Track leave and overtime records.
  • Motivate team members to enhance efficiency and skills.

Administration:

  • Handle insurance claims, traffic fines, and vehicle maintenance records.
  • Monitor driver working hours to ensure compliance.
  • Complete debrief reports for ad hoc projects.

Client Service:

  • Deliver high-quality customer service within SLAs.
  • Build collaborative relationships with HR, IT, and clients.
  • Act as a frontline contact for clients, addressing challenges proactively.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matric certificate.
  • Computer literacy (MS Office, Outlook).
  • Diploma/Degree in a relevant field (advantageous).
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in transport management.
  • Proven experience managing customer portfolios.
  • Industry-specific experience (beneficial).
