Job summary

A leading company in facilities management is seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee their fleet operations. This role involves managing financial performance, asset management, and vendor contracts while ensuring the fleet meets operational needs efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, significant experience in fleet management, and excellent leadership skills to drive the team towards achieving performance metrics and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years in fleet management environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing a team of 10+ employees.
  • Driver's Licence - Code B.

Job description

Oversees all aspects of the Company fleet owned, leased, and rentals. Effectively manage and lead the Fleet team in terms of:

  • Ensuring vehicle availability to enable sustainable operational services to clients
  • Effective cost management across fleet expenses
  • Mitigating risks associated with all fleet-related matters
  • Effective asset management to achieve ROI targets
  • Effective reporting and monitoring of all fleet management tasks and deliverables
  • Promoting and encouraging sustainable fleet solutions that support business growth

Financial Management

  • Monitor financial performance
  • Annual budget planning and forecasting
  • Ensure expenditure is managed within budget

Asset Management

  • ROI management
  • Monthly reporting or as required
  • Ensure correctness of all invoicing and timely processing
  • Effective control and socialization of cost accruals

Vendor Management

  • Contract negotiations & adherence to rate agreements

Asset Management

  • Master data integrity
  • Audit checks

Customer and Stakeholder Management

  • Client relations and understanding client expectations
  • Attend monthly client/business meetings

Internal Controls and Administration

  • Conduct team meetings
  • Provide consolidated reporting
  • Identify and resolve problems proactively
  • Communicate changes effectively
  • Develop and implement fleet performance metrics
  • Build high-performance teams

Administration

  • Oversee data integrity, driver and vehicle files, cost center allocation, fleet rotations, disposal, acquisition, etc.

Monthly Fleet Overview and Quality Standards

  • Develop and review fleet standards and policies
  • Implement continuous improvements
  • Develop risk management systems
  • Implement efficiency measures

Operations

  • Optimize fleet ROI
  • Ensure process and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee fuel management and develop processes for expenditure reconciliation

Additional Responsibilities

  • Mitigate risks associated with diesel dispensing models

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in logistics, fleet, or supply chain management
  • Industry-related diploma/degree
