Job description

Purpose of the Job
To manage and ensure the upkeep of the entire fleet. To oversee all services and work carried out on specific vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and manage fleet servicing information
  • Analyze refuelling data and fuel consumption for Gauteng-based vehicles
  • Consolidate and analyze fuel consumption across the national fleet
  • Engage with drivers to promote better fuel efficiency
  • Forecast servicing and refuelling needs and execute accordingly
  • Manage vehicle Work In Progress reports
  • Assist the National Fleet Supervisor with daily planning
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain overall fleet condition
  • Conduct monthly panic button tests
  • Check and log vehicle checklists daily
  • Update vehicle KMs daily
  • Manage vehicle COFs, ensuring renewal 30 days prior to expiry
  • Manage tail lift load tests and services, ensuring completion before expiry
  • Coordinate truck washing as per schedule
  • Compile detailed reports on job card costs
  • Report and investigate accidents and fines
  • Use route planning software to design efficient delivery routes
  • Optimize transportation routes for efficiency and cost reduction
  • Monitor order status and address issues proactively
  • Ensure daily submission of vehicle trip sheets
  • Compile and reconcile planning statistics for management
  • Maintain driver-related information
  • Monitor vehicle tracking systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
