Purpose of the Job
To manage and ensure the upkeep of the entire fleet. To oversee all services and work carried out on specific vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture and manage fleet servicing information
- Analyze refuelling data and fuel consumption for Gauteng-based vehicles
- Consolidate and analyze fuel consumption across the national fleet
- Engage with drivers to promote better fuel efficiency
- Forecast servicing and refuelling needs and execute accordingly
- Manage vehicle Work In Progress reports
- Assist the National Fleet Supervisor with daily planning
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain overall fleet condition
- Conduct monthly panic button tests
- Check and log vehicle checklists daily
- Update vehicle KMs daily
- Manage vehicle COFs, ensuring renewal 30 days prior to expiry
- Manage tail lift load tests and services, ensuring completion before expiry
- Coordinate truck washing as per schedule
- Compile detailed reports on job card costs
- Report and investigate accidents and fines
- Use route planning software to design efficient delivery routes
- Optimize transportation routes for efficiency and cost reduction
- Monitor order status and address issues proactively
- Ensure daily submission of vehicle trip sheets
- Compile and reconcile planning statistics for management
- Maintain driver-related information
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
