Job summary

Bridgestone EMEA in Brits, ZA, is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to service tyre-building machines and equipment. You will diagnose faults, perform preventive maintenance, and support machine setups for efficient production.

The role requires post-trade experience in manufacturing, with preference for tyre-manufacturing exposure and ability to read technical drawings. On-site, with potential shifts and overtime, you’ll be part of a safety-conscious, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Qualified Fitter with a recognised South African trade certificate.
• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years’ post-trade experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with tyre-manufacturing equipment and machinery advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective mechanical maintenance on tyre-building machines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Assist with installation, adjustment and alignment of machine components, guides, drums, and tooling.
• Read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and machine setup requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure safety procedures are followed.
