Fitter & Turner / Toolmaker, Port Elizabeth

We are seeking a Fitter & Turner / Toolmaker for a permanent role based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.

POSITION INFO:

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Trade Test or equivalent with strong mechanical knowledge / skills.
• 5+ years working experience in the manufacturing or engineering industry.
• Valid driver's license and own transport.

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Using and reading all types of measuring equipment.
• Understanding the working principle of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Attending to all machine breakdowns.
• Interpreting technical drawings.
• General turning and machining.
• Performing machine settings and changes when requested.
• Identifying quality issues and reporting.
• Completing PM checks with the maintenance system ODIN.
• Participating in monthly stock takes, rectification of variances, and spare part control.
• Manufacturing spare parts and changes to parts.
• Updating and controlling engineering drawings.
• Assisting with tooling and new equipment try-outs.
• Daily checking on crucial equipment like cooling towers & compressors.
• Maintaining housekeeping in maintenance areas and where engineering work or repairs are carried out in the company.

Salary: Market related.
