Job description

Key Performance Areas

1. Repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment in line with prescribed regulations and standards, including Companies Asset Care System (HACS).
2. Conducting regular inspections, fault finding, and preventative maintenance jobs.
3. Driving innovation and business improvements to support operational and segment goals.
4. Implementing initiatives aligned with business plans.
5. Fabrication of components through turning, milling, welding, and fitting.
6. Participating in mini-business activities such as TPM.
7. Adhering to relevant health, safety, and quality standards.

The Successful Candidate Must Preferably Have the Following Experience/Skills

• N3 equivalent Mechanical qualification (NQF 4), with a Mechanical Trade (Fitter Turner/Millwright).
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• N4 - N6 Technical qualification (advantageous).
• Experience in an FMCG environment (advantageous).
• Experience working with high-speed bottling machinery (distinct advantage).
• Labelling experience (advantageous).
• Ability to work accurately according to measurements and specifications.
• Competence in turning, milling, argon, and arc welding.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Demonstrates good leadership behavior towards colleagues, superiors, and aligns with company values.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• Physical capability to meet the demands of the position.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and flexible hours.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
