Fitter & Turner / Machinist required in Bedford.

A well established engineering firm based just outside of Bedford is seeking a qualified or highly experienced Fitter & Turner / Machinist.

Accommodation and fuel will be provided by the client.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as Fitter & Turner / Machinist
  • Strong mechanical skills and the ability to work with a range of equipment
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and schematics
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
  • MIG, TIG and Arc Welding
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications (preferred)
  • Own vehicle preferred
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain various types of mechanical equipment, such as lathes, mills and grinders.
  • Fabricate, assemble and install mechanical components based on detailed drawings and specifications
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure machinery runs at optimal efficiency
  • Interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints with precision
  • Work closely with the engineering team to identify areas for improvement and resolve issues.
