Job description

R18 000.00 - R26 000.00 Monthly (negotiable, dependent on experience)

We are seeking a Fitter & Turner for a permanent vacancy based in East London, Eastern Cape.

Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

  1. Trade Tested qualification
  2. Strong mechanical knowledge and skills
  3. At least 5-10 years proven experience in the manufacturing or general engineering environment
  4. Computer literate

The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Fabrication of components according to engineering drawings
  2. Strong Centre Lathe and Milling Machine experience
  3. Mig and Tig Welding experience is optional
  4. Fitting and general turning and machining
  5. Measuring and Cutting materials to specifications
  6. Ensuring that the workshop is run smoothly and to keep everyone safe
  7. Repairing of machine components
  8. Checking the finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerance marked on the blueprint.
  9. Maintenance support, ability to troubleshoot and repair various machines
  10. Able to prioritize tasks
  11. Performing equipment checks and conducting preventative maintenance tasks
  12. Following written instructions and keeping records
  13. Adhering to health and safety regulations
  14. Work with Apprentices to upskill

Salary: R18000.000 – R26000.00 per month negotiable, based on experience
