Job summary

Resources Partners Pty Ltd in Johannesburg is seeking a qualified Fitter Artisan to join our maintenance team. You will maintain and repair factory equipment to maximise machine availability, minimise downtime and support efficient production.

The role requires a trade-qualified Fitter Artisan with at least three years’ experience in meat processing or a similar manufacturing environment. You will work overtime, weekends and standby duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified Fitter Artisan with a recognised trade qualification.
• A National Diploma will be advantageous.
• At least three years’ experience in the meat processing industry or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out effective mechanical repairs and maintenance on factory equipment.
• Ensure maximum machine availability and minimise production downtime.
• Complete job cards and scheduled maintenance in accordance with prescribed checklists and procedures.
• Monitor machinery operation and report non-conformances to supervision and production management.
• Identify and report requirements for critical spares and workshop equipment.
• Assist with new installations and maintenance-related projects.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards in the workshop and production areas.
• Comply with company policies, health and safety requirements and maintenance procedures.
• Take ownership of maintenance activities and ensure work is completed efficiently and to required standards.
• Support the maintenance team and production operations as required.
