Job description

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on production machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective fault-finding and problem-solving.
• Manufacture, assemble, and install machine parts, jigs, and fixtures using lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene standards in the food manufacturing environment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards.
• Work closely with the engineering team to improve machine reliability and production efficiency.
• Assist in continuous improvement projects and machine modifications.

Requirements

• Recognised Trade Test qualification as a Fitter and Turner.
• Minimum 3–5 years’ post-trade experience, preferably in the food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in fault finding and repair.
• Skilled in the use of precision tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding will be advantageous.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby as required.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
