Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective fault-finding and problem-solving.
- Manufacture, assemble, and install machine parts, jigs, and fixtures using lathes, milling machines, and other precision tools.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and hygiene standards in the food manufacturing environment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete job cards.
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve machine reliability and production efficiency.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects and machine modifications.
Requirements
- Recognised Trade Test qualification as a Fitter and Turner.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ post-trade experience, preferably in the food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing industry.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in fault finding and repair.
- Skilled in the use of precision tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and welding will be advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby as required.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
