Job description

CFW Fans (Pty) Ltd, an SABS ISO 9001 certified company, holds a prominent market position in Southern Africa, specialising in the design, manufacture, and distribution of fans for the industrial, mining, power generation, and HVAC sectors.

Since its founding as Continental Fan Works in 1966, CFW has built extensive expertise and knowledge, establishing itself as a trusted supplier of industrial fans to leading corporations both within South Africa and internationally.

Responsibilities

The company employs a diverse workforce with a strong skill set in engineering. We are currently seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner (Conventional machining) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Assemble, install, maintain, and repair mechanical components and systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery.
• Diagnose faults and ensure effective repairs are carried out.
• Adhere to safety standards and company procedures at all times.
• Ensure quality control and dimensional accuracy of finished parts
• Must be able to set up and operate a conventional lathe, milling machine, cylindrical and horizontal surface grinder machinery for the machining of various engineering components, i.e. shafts, bushes, cutting of keyways and other general engineering components, according to specifications.
  
  

Qualifications And Experience Required

• Turner Machinist / Fitter & Turner / Tool, Jig and Die Maker qualification (Red Seal).
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role
• Bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Experience in engineering field either HVAC / ventilation / fans or applications is advantageous
