Job summary

A fast-paced poultry processing facility in Izotsha seeks a skilled Fitter to support maintenance and production operations. This role involves assembling mechanical parts, performing maintenance tasks, and ensuring optimal system performance. Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience and a Certificate III in Engineering, among other qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a mechanical fitter or similar role.
  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and fit mechanical components using technical drawings.
  • Install and align heavy machinery, pumps, and valves.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment.

Job Title: Fitter

Our client, a fast-paced, high-volume poultry processing facility based in Izotsha, is looking for a skilled and reliable Fitter to support maintenance and production operations. If you are passionate about engineering in a dynamic food manufacturing environment, this could be your next big opportunity!

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a mechanical fitter or similar role

  • Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (or equivalent)

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals

  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems

  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude

  • Familiarity with safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout

  • Physically fit, able to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces

  • Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and fit mechanical components and systems using technical drawings and blueprints

  • Install and align heavy machinery, pumps, conveyors, valves, and piping systems

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on mechanical equipment

  • Use hand and power tools, and precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers

  • Conduct functional and pressure tests to ensure optimal system performance

  • Cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes and structural components as required

  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs or part replacements following safety protocols
