Firewood Production Supervisor (Farm Handyman) – Greytown, KZN.

An opportunity for an experienced Firewood Production Supervisor / Farm Handyman is required for permanent employment based in Greytown.

Industry: Farming / Timber / Firewood Manufacturing.

Salary: R5,000 with potential to increase to R6,500 after probation + Housing + Water & electricity + Wi-Fi.

Start Date: Immediate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision of a 3-person team operating two industrial wood shaving machines.
• Production planning and ensuring safe and correct work execution.
• Changing machine blades and V-belts, ensuring regular greasing and cleaning.
• Conducting weekly checks on bolts and nuts, identifying any issues.
• Daily counting of production output and recording on Microsoft Excel or paper.
• Supervising firewood production with similar oversight duties.
• Engaging in farm projects such as fence and gate repairs, roof leak maintenance, and greenhouse construction.
• Participating in general farm maintenance and renovations as needed.
• Firefighting on standby weekends if necessary.

Requirements:

• Must speak and write in English and Zulu.
• Basic mechanical knowledge.
• Code 10 driver’s license (for future deliveries and collections).
• Physically capable of hands-on work with farm teams.
• Some experience in building and woodworking would be beneficial.
• Strong leadership skills, especially in a production environment.
• Must be phone literate for training on phone apps.
• Common sense and adaptability are essential for training success.
