Fire Safety Officer

An East London Local Authority is seeking an experienced and proactive Fire Safety Officer to join their team on an interim basis.
This vital role will support the Council’s ongoing commitment to resident safety and building compliance across their housing stock.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide quality assurance of third-party Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs)
  • Undertake FRAs for street properties within the borough
  • Assist in the development and review of residential PEEPs (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans)
  • Act as the technical fire safety lead for residential blocks in your designated area
  • Support Building Safety Managers in the preparation of safety case reports
  • Conduct regular fire safety inspections of medium-rise residential blocks
  • Carry out post-fire investigations to identify causes and future risk mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with the London Fire Brigade (LFB) during audits and inspections
About You:
Essential:
  • Level 4 Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent qualification
  • Membership of a recognised professional fire safety body (e.g., IFSM, IFE)
  • Strong knowledge of current fire safety regulations and best practices
