At Work is seeking a Fire Engineer - Building Services for their Cape Town team. The role involves developing fire safety and compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects across South Africa and abroad.

You will handle design aspects of rational fire designs and sprinkler installations, perform fire risk analyses, and plan, design, and manage complete projects. Registration with ECSA is encouraged, with experience in a consulting MEP environment.

Qualificações

• 5 years experience in mechanical building services.
• 5 years experience in SANS.
• Deemed to satisfy and rational building fire safety design.
• Design of firefighting equipment and fire life safety systems.
• Consulting environment experience in MEP building services.
• Registered or planning to obtain ECSA professional registration.

A consulting company with offices in Durbanville, Cape Town is looking for a Fire Engineer - Building Services to join their Cape Town team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Developing fire safety & compliance designs for multi-disciplinary construction projects throughout South Africa and abroad.

Attending to the full range of design aspects relating to rational fire designs and sprinkler installations.

Fire risk analysis.

Plan, design, organize and control complete projects.

Manage small and medium projects with none or limited guidance.

Manage large projects on experience-proven basis or as part of company fire design management team.

Professionally represent company in client meetings, site meetings and surveys.

Assist with preparation of tender documentation and general project management administration.

Developing briefs seeking approval for code equivalency.

Ensure that designs comply with Regulations, Codes of Practice, and statutory requirements, including NFPA, BS, SANS and ASIB.

Minimum Requirements: Experience & Qualification

5 Years experience in the mechanical building services environment.

5 Years experience in SANS.

Deemed to satisfy and rational building fire safety design.

Design of firefighting equipment, smoke extraction systems, stair pressurization systems and fire sprinkler systems.

Experience gained in a consulting environment working on MEP Building Services.

Registered or planning to obtain ECSA professional registration status.

[Experience in thermal modelling will be advantageous]
